Have you ever considered what it would be like to live without access to a computer? Sure, many of us fantasize about spending time unplugged but it's not realistic. Imagine trying to find a job, enroll your child in school, learn about transportation options, access services or identify recreational opportunities without computer assistance. The process would be overwhelming.
At GNCH our central mission is to welcome refugee families by providing them with a move in ready apartment that provides a starting opportunity for a successful life in the United States. This we have done for almost 190 families over the last 10 years through in-kind and cash donations. What we are finding is that many families also lack one the essentials for 21st century American life—access to a computer.
We would like your help as we test our capacity to fill this gap for the refugee families we serve. We need to raise an additional $6,200 to purchase laptops for the 12 to 15 families we anticipate serving over the next 6 months. We also need a new volunteer team of 3 to 4 people to handle the logistics of purchasing, delivering, and providing set-up technical assistance to our families. These volunteers will work in conjunction with the current GNCH teams. Can you help?
